    How to Display Log-On Info in a Dialog

     
    DWORD Value and name it DomainLogonMessage. Double-click on this new key and change the Value data field to 1. Now close the Registry Editor and restart Windows. The next time you log on, you'll see the confirmation window.

    If you're running Win 95 on an NT network, you can configure your system to display a dialog with log-on information--such as the server that validated your log on--which can be useful when troubleshooting. For instance, if there was a problem with the primary domain controller, and the backup domain controller performed the authentication instead, you'd know this the moment you logged on.

    To display this dialog, launch RegEdit, then expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key. Now expand the Network folder and select Logon. From the Edit menu, choose New
